The Concept

SportPunks have arrived to expand the Punkverse, where 6,666 Fans Punks and 1,111 Players Punks want to disrupt the way fans engage with their favorite sport, teams and players.

We want to partner up with sports teams, clubs and different sports organization, so that SportPunks holders can gain access to real-life perks and experiences. Imagine attending exclusive events of your favorite team, special discounts for match tickets and official merchandise, or yield $Trophies — the utility token that will power the SportPunk ecosystem.

We have so many ideas we would love to share and execute along side the community, so we also want token ownership to be your share-of-voice in the MembersDAO, a self-governing organization that will empower the community to direct our policies and SportPunks investments.

 
 
 

The Fans

Sports wouldn’t exist without their fans, right? 6,666 of these Fans will ever be created, 27 of them are super rare Alien Fans. They love and support all kind of different sports, they wear colorful hats, flashy scarfs and wigs, they paint their hair, and like to make some noise with loud vuvuzelas.

The Players

The Players are the athletes, the ones that bring the show. The most desired ones for many different reasons, they are rare, only 1,111 will ever be in circulation — 6 of them are ultra rare Aliens. They wear all kind of protective wear, fancy jewelry, and they even copy the hair styles from some of the most famous stars in sport’s history, — the Rodman’s, the Beckham’s, the Rapinoe’s, and some others.

Who are we and why are we doing this?

 

Rorschach Labs is the home for our professional and experimental projects. We are a super young and small creative design studio based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Our group consists of creative technologists that love to explore new ways to apply design, through technology.

The SportPunks is our first NFT project. We are seeing that most of the current NFT projects are short-term thinking and add non to zero value, they see this as a 30-day opportunity — we see it as a 30-year opportunity. Their founders look for the quick buck, and in many cases they pull the rug (a.k.a they scam you).

Even if the base design of our artwork is obviously inspired by CryptoPunks, we wanted to use the base of this already great artwork, to make something that has never been done before, real-life utility for the sports industry — We want to change the game in how fans engage with their favorite sports, teams and players, and how sports organizations monetize fans’ support.

We know the financial impact Covid has had on the sports industry; and as fans ourselves, we know how annoying it is not to enjoy sports like it used to be — that’s why we came up with the SportPunks idea.

We believe NFTs are here to stay forever, it will add an incredible amount of value to society. The SportPunks and its utility, is designed for the long-term and we are here to make it happen.

This roadmap outlines our goals and where we want to take SportsPunks. We have a lot of ideas and concepts that we are working on. It may evolve over time and hopefully, with the help of our community, we can add more and more utility!

.01 Whitelisting & Pre-launch (Now)

First things first, our community. We want to build a strong and passionate community that truly believes in the idea and vision behind the SportPunks. The drop release date and mint price will be announced as soon as the project's technical and quality aspects are fully developed. Meanwhile, we’ll create a whitelist for pre-sale and we’ll be actively pursuing partnerships with sport teams and organizations from around the world and across different sports.

.02 Sale Launch (Q1-2024)

Prepare to Launch! We will open our minting dApp the day of the drop release and subsequent reveal on secondary marketplaces such as OpenSea. We’ll also be working on a cool rarity and traits explorer so you can check how rare your fresh new Punks are. 10% of sales will be transferred to the ManagersDAO Treasury wallet, once at 50% sales and another 10% at 100%. The MembersDAO Treasury will be used to fund special experiences, events and donations to charity of the members choice.

.03 Core Utility Launch (TBA)

Things will start to get very serious at this stage. We’ll begin to make the first part of the utility work. We’ll be working closely with our partners to implement Web3 mechanisms to their websites. At this point, you should already be able to connect your wallet to partner’s websites and apply the relevant discounts based on the Punks you own. We will also deploy the MembersDAO, so we can start exploring new ideas and start making decisions.

.04 $Trophies Token Launch (TBA)

$Trophies will play a huge role in the SportPunks universe. As the community grows more utility will be added. The vision and mission of SportPunks is much bigger than just an avatar project. $Trophies will let us fuel our ecosystem the TRUE way, on the blockchain. It will be our governance token in the MembersDAO and it will allow Players holders the ability to yield $Trophies daily. We will get in place the mechanisms to perform the different tasks that $Trophies will enable, such as: MembersDAO super voting, burning a certain amount of $Trophies, so that owners can mint future versions of SportPunks, and the listing on crypto exchanges.

  • NFT stands for non-fungible token. It is a one-of-a-kind digital token that you can buy or sell. These tokens can represent just about anything, and they use blockchain technology to prove ownership. Sometimes they are associated with a digital image, GIF, or song. Sometimes they can be redeemed for a physical object. Sometimes the owner is entitled to an experience, like a movie or a phone call.

  • SportPunks is a collection of unique 7,777 NFTs stored on the Ethereum blockchain. Is a collection inspired by the famous CryptoPunks from Larva Labs, but with a sports twist + real-life utility.

  • All different varieties and attributes were designed and created manually and then randomized with different rarities using a script.

    The minting process will take place in a dedicated Minting portal through our own smart contract.

  • SportPunks NFTs represent access and benefits to real-world perks and experiences in sports. Take a look at some of the perks mentioned on the sections above or head to our Discord channel to know more.

  • Yes, we have a whitelist which will have a maximum of 1000 spots, 500 of them for the first 500 people to join our Discord. All whitelisted addresses will get access to a private sale.

    Player Punks will generate $Trophies daily and will be used for super voting on our MembersDAO, and for burning mechanisms to mint future collections.

  • Will charge a 10% royalty. 95% of it will be used to distribute among our partners and 5% will be used to keep funding our MembersDAO. No royalties will be paid for the team.

  • Token ownership represents a voice in the forthcoming MembersDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization that will allow community members to direct the future of SportPunks with their vote.

    We believe that decentralization and community involvement is the only way to go forward with the SportPunks. The foundation for this principle is the MembersDAO Treasury which will be funded with 10% of all primary sales as well as 5% ongoing secondary royalties. The MembersDAO Treasury will be used to fund special experiences, events, and donations to the charity of the member's choice.

  • You own all commercial rights to the images of all your SportPunks.

  • We will look at this on a case-by-case basis, but in principle, the integration will be free of charge. We reserve the right to charge a fee in some cases when the integration becomes too complex.
